Dewey “Cliff” McCraw

May 23, 1934 - December 7, 2023

Dewey Clifford McCraw, 89, woke up in Heaven, Thursday, December 7, 2023. He had been struggling with failing health, but is now healed. Cliff was a beloved son, husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend.

He was born on May 23, 1934 in Hendersonville, NC to the late Dovie M. McCraw. On January 8, 1955, Cliff married the love of his life, Barbara Corn McCraw. God blessed them with 62 years of awe-inspiring love and marriage. Throughout his life, Cliff worked in the Food Distribution business at Select Foods and PYA Monarch. Cliff was a faithful member and leader at Mud Creek Baptist Church for many, many years.

Cliff leaves behind a daughter, Laura McCraw Tice (Tony) of Kernersville, NC, a son, Kenneth Clifford McCraw of Hendersonville, NC, three grandsons, Sam Tice (Amber) of Longs, SC, Cliff Tice (Amber) of Point Harbor, NC and Nick Tice (Shannon) of Wilmington, NC. He also leaves five great- grand children behind; Kyron, Devin, Beau, Lyla and Viviana Tice. A great-grandson expected in January 2024 will also carry on Cliff’s legacy.

Laura and Ken want you to know that their father was a Godly man who gave freely with all his heart and took nothing in return. He was more than a father, he was the epitome of a daddy. We will miss you, dad, but what a glorious reunion it will be. When you met Jesus, we know he greeted you by saying “Well done, my good and faithful servant.”

A graveside memorial service will be held for family and close friends on Saturday, December 16, 2023 at 1 PM at Shepherd Memorial Park 5045 Asheville Highway Hendersonville, NC. Rev. Greg Mathis will officiate. Church Street Funerals & Cremations will be assisting the family with arrangements.

Ken and Laura, just want you to know that your dad and I had many conversations about you after he moved to Laural Park. He loved you so very much and looked forward so much to see grand children. We worked together for 5yrs (transportation) and have known each other seems like forever. He was a wonderful Christian man. We will be praying for your families. Love ya'll
