John Michael Gibbs

John Michael Gibbs, 74, of Mill Spring, NC died at his home late
Wednesday afternoon, March 29, 2023, with his loving family by
his side.

Mr. Gibbs was born in Henderson County on Saturday, February
26, 1949, to the late John Christopher and Gladys (Bradley)
Gibbs. On September 23, 1990, he married his loving wife of 32
years, the former Cynthia Ann Edwards who survives. In 1968
Mr. Gibbs proudly serviced his country in the United States Army
where he was a Military Police Officer. After receiving an
honorable discharge he went on and served as a Captain in the
Henderson County Sheriff’s Office before retiring.

In addition to his devoted wife, Ann, he leaves behind to cherish
his memory his children, Lori Luckadoo and her husband, Eric of
Mill Spring, NC, Chris Gibbs and his wife, Christy of Fletcher, NC,
Jason Kilgore and his wife, Jamie and Charlie Kilgore and his wife
Jennifer all of Mill Spring, NC. Mr. Gibbs is also survived by 12
special grandchildren.

In addition to his beloved parents, he is preceded in death by his
two grandchildren, O’Brien and William who died on September
26, 2017, from a tragic automobile accident and a sister Mary
Ellen Ledbetter.

A graveside service to celebrate the life of Mr. Gibbs will be
eleven o’clock, Saturday morning, April 1, 2023, at Shepherd
Memorial Park with Rev. Roy Perry, Rev. William Carpenter and
Daniel Mintz officiating with Military Honors by the United States
Army.

Memorial contributions may be offered on behalf of Mr. Gibbs to the
Henderson County Parks and Recreation Department, 708 South
Grove Street, Hendersonville, NC, 28792 or to the charity of the
donor’s choice.

John will be forever missed by his loving and devoted family and
many close friends. May God Grant Him Eternal Rest.
