Michael Fender, of Hendersonville, NC, passed away peacefully on March 14, 2024, at Elizabeth House. He was born on August 24, 1950, in Galax, VA. Michael was 73 years old at the time of his passing.

Michael proudly served in the US Navy. His interests were varied and included music, family, information technology, literature, and poetry. He cherished spending time with loved ones and exploring the world of technology and arts.

Michael is preceded in death by his father, Roy Lee Fender, his mother, Evelyn Higgins Fender, and his brother-in-law, David William Brown of Morganton, NC.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 53 years, Brenda Hawley Fender; loving daughter, Jennifer Fender Woody, and her husband, Robert Shane Woody of Brevard, NC; grandchildren, Dr. Coleman Duke Woody and his wife, Rachel, Camille Grace Woody, Kobi Woody, and Heather Mae Woody; great-grandchild, Judah Duke Woody; and sisters, Pam Fender Brown of Morganton, NC, and Donna Fender Osborne and her husband, Bob of Roanoke, VA.

Having previously resided in Atlanta, GA, Michael touched the lives of many with his kindness, humor, and love for his family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
