Patsy Sue Garren

October 23, 1942 - August 24, 2023

Patsy Sue Garren, beloved mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away on August 24, 2023, at Kindred Hospital in Greensboro, North Carolina. She was born on October 23, 1942, at her residence in Burnsville, North Carolina. Patsy was 80 years old at the time of her passing.

Patsy led a fulfilling life, working in various roles throughout her career. She dedicated herself as a Certified Nursing Assistant, owned a cleaning business, and served as a café waitress. Her commitment to helping others shone through in all that she did.

Outside of her professional life, Patsy found joy in simple pleasures. She enjoyed watching the Jimmy Swaggart Ministries TV network, finding solace and inspiration in the scriptures. Spending time with her great-grandchildren brought her immense happiness, and she cherished those moments dearly.

Patsy was preceded in death by her father, Paul Edwards, her mother, Hattie Mae Edwards, and her loving spouse, Norman Lee Garren Sr. She also mourned the loss of her brothers, Charles Eugene Edwards, Farrell Edwards, and Thurman Edwards.

Patsy is survived by her son, Norman Lee Garren Jr., and her adoring granddaughter, Hailee McAllister Garren. She was a proud great-grandmother to Leevi Richards and Aspen Mae Richards. Patsy is also survived by her dear sister, Diana Lynn Kirk of Jacksonville, Florida, as well as her nephews, Daniel Edwards, Dennis Edwards, Kirk Todd Edwards, and Tony Edwards. Her nieces, Kim Capps and Angela Kirk, also grieve her loss.

A private family service was held to honor and remember Patsy’s life, followed by her burial at Shepherd Memorial Park. As we mourn her passing, let us remember her warm smile, kind heart, and unwavering love for her family.

In memory of Patsy Sue Garren, memorial donations can be made to Jimmy Swaggart Ministries. May her legacy live on through the kindness and generosity she showed throughout her life.
