Raquel B. Soward of Arden, NC and formerly of Boca Raton, FL died Thursday morning, March 30, 2023, at Care Partners Hospice, Solace Center in Asheville, NC following an extended illness.

Mrs. Soward was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina on Thursday, February 20, 1947, to the late Isaac and Ana (Levit) Chirulnicoff. As the former Raquel Beatrice Chirulnicoff she married her loving husband of 53 years, Mr. Robert G. Soward who survives.

Mrs. Soward was a loving mother, wife and grandmother through the many years she was married.

In addition to her husband, Robert, she leaves behind to cherish her memory her children, daughters, Debbie D. Yudenfriend and her husband, Lee of Mills River, NC and Rose M. Sherby and her husband, Ryan of Greenville, NC and a son, Henry C. Soward and his wife, Hamida of Indian Trail, NC. Other survivors include her three devoted grandchildren, Lily, Zander, and Asher along with a sister, Mirta Revis of Pembroke Pines, FL.

A private family graveside service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Soward will be April 7, 2023, at Shepherd Memorial Park with Rabbi Wolff Alterman officiating.

Memorial contributions may be offered on behalf of Mrs. Soward, to the Care Partners Asheville, 68 Sweeten Creek Road, Asheville, NC 28803.

Raquel will be forever missed by her loving and devoted husband, children, grandchildren, and many dear friends.
