Richard H. Nelson, a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and skilled electrician, passed away at his home in Hendersonville, NC on September 13, 2023. He was born on November 30, 1944, in the Bronx, NY. Rick, as he was known, was 78 years old at the time of his passing.

Rick’s work experience included being an electrician for IBEW Local 3, where he diligently served for many years. His passion for art, creating alligator tables, and reading brought him immense joy throughout his life. Rick also pursued his educational endeavors, earning a B.A. Degree in Electric Technology.

Rick was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Audrey Griffin Nelson. He will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 55 years, Anne. Rick is also survived by his daughter, Kerrie Anne Nelson-Cappuccilli, her husband, Peter of Clover, SC, as well as his sons, Daniel Nelson of Brooklyn, NY, and Kevin Nelson and his wife, Michelle of Warwick, NY. His grandchildren, Antonio, Kevin, Jason, Daniel, Teagan, and Marissa, all held a special place in his heart.

Rick leaves behind his sister, Barbara and her husband, Julius Voisin of Theriot, LA, and his brother, Thomas and his wife, Eva Nelson of Hendersonville. Their bond as siblings brought them strength and support throughout their lives.

The services to honor Rick’s life will be held on Friday, September 22, 2023, at 2:00 PM with a Mass of Christian Burial, officiated by Father David O’Conner at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.

Rick Nelson will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his art and his unwavering commitment to his profession. His presence will be greatly missed, but his memory will forever live on in the hearts of all those who knew and loved him.
